Kids 4 Truth 2010 Webinar Events

Kids 4 Truth Webinar events are available free of charge to anyone who is interested in attending to gain more training and insight in the program. Whether you are currently using Kids 4 Truth, are scheduled to begin the program soon, or are just interested in finding out more about the program. We welcome you to attend the entire time or come and go as needed.

The second Thursday of each month will house the same topics. These are topics that are helpful to those who are interested in finding out more about the program or those who need to understand the program better. These topics include:

Who is K4T? – Basics on Who we are, What we teach, Why we teach what we teach.
Understanding the TruthBooks – a walk through the Kids 4 Truth curriculum student books.
Discoverers – A Whole Other World – a walk through the preschool curriculum, how preschool children learn, and techniques to use when working with preschoolers.

Live Web-Based training is easy to use: simply log into the site using the links we provide to participate. Links will be posted to the EquipU Forums (http://equipu.kids4truth.com/forums/121.aspx) within two weeks of the session. Participants can ask questions, download manuals and resources, and give feedback to the presenter. Multiple participants can attend and watch from individual computers or connect your computer to a projector and watch as a group. Presenters will upload documents for you to view, allow you to see how resources are used, survey your needs, answer questions and much more!

We encourage you to log in up to 30 minutes prior to the event to check your settings. We ask that you RSVP for these events on the online Forums so that we know the number of participants to expect. Note: if we have no participants sign by 7:15 we will cancel the event for that evening.

If you would like to schedule a training event for your ministry, please contact me at: marrena@kids4truth.com. We welcome the opportunity to create a training event with the topics you want or need discussed. These events can be schedule for 1 to 3 hours in length, and dates are available on a first come first served basis.

We reserve the rights to change the schedule or topic to meet the needs of those attending the sessions or our staff. Please check with the EquipU Forums for the most up to date version of session schedules and topics.

WebNumbers Pages – Now Include Discoverers Pages

We are pleased to announce that the WebNumbers site now has pages for Discoverers!

To Access Discoverers Pages

Since the Discoverers TruthBooks are set up by Doctrinal theme instead of units within a Doctrinal theme, we have set up the WebNumbers pages the same way – by Doctrinal theme instead of Q&A or unit. Therefore, WebNumbers for the Discoverers level is four digits instead of six digits like the other levels. The first two numbers are the level number (01) with the second two numbers being the doctrinal theme (01-12). For example: the Discoverers WebNumber page for theme #1 God’s Word – The Bible is 0101, The Greatness of God is 0102, etc.

Special note:

As mentioned above, all Discoverers Coloring Pages and Crafts that are specific to a doctrinal theme have been moved from the EquipU site to the WebNumbers site. Each file includes seven pages of simple coloring sheets for the doctrinal theme. The memory work on these pages reflects the Level 1: Discoverers curriculum. Specific pages for the Key Truth, Q&A for Book A, Q&A for Book B, Q&A for Book C, Bible Verse for Book A, Bible Verse for Book B, and Bibles Verses for Book C. Send home a different page each week! These files were revised in January 2010, the coloring sheets now reflect 2009 curriculum and & each page is labeled to reflect which Discoverers Book it matches.

Dear EquipU Users,

We trust this newsletter will be a blessing to you as it highlights the latest happenings with Kids 4 Truth’s curriculum and clubs program. Whether you are operating a club, a different type of children’s church program, using the curriculum as homeschool material, or simply curious to learn more about Kids 4 Truth – we are glad to serve you!

Shipping Information

One of the most common requests we receive is that we ship all items in an order from the same location. (In the past, we have had our vendors ship products directly to you instead of maintaining a large warehouse. As a result of this, it was not unusual to have multiple shipping charges within a given order – one per source warehouse.) We are happy to announce that we are working toward more centralized solutions. So far, we have combined 3 of our warehouses into 1 and are now down to 3 warehouses total instead of 5. We trust that this will make ordering supplies more convenient for our churches.

The goal of the Kids 4 Truth staff is to ship orders 24-48 business hours after the order is placed. Please remember: Banners take up to 2 weeks to be shipped, and shirts can take up to 4 weeks.

Tax Exempt Letters Needed
Over the past year Kids 4 Truth has moved more of its operations to Knoxville, TN, and many of our items are now shipped from there. Unfortunately, the time has come that we would have to begin charging TN sales tax in addition to the MO sales tax. If your church is located in TN or MO we need to have a copy of your tax exempt certificate on file in order to remove sales tax from your orders. (Churches from other states are welcomed to send in tax exempt letters, but at this time it is not required in order for you to avoid sales tax.) You may send your tax exempt certificate to us one of three ways:

Truth in Real Life Moments

We are thrilled to announce a new feature to the Kids 4 Truth devotional site. "Truth in Real Life Moments" are real-life audio stories written about real Christians who lived a life for Christ, and dramatically presented especially for Kids 4 Truth listeners.

Webinar Training Events

In addition to our regular Regional Training Events, we are now scheduling Webinars (training events via the internet). Regular training events will be scheduled twice a month with one session lasting approximately 2 hours, meant to cover a number of general training issues. The second event each month will be a specific topical session that lasts approximately 45 minutes. Please be sure to visit the online forums on EquipU (http://equipu.kids4truth.com) to RSVP for events and download training manuals. The Kids 4 Truth Executive Team would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We pray that the Lord will richly bless you and your ministry during this holiday season.

The Kids 4 Truth Offices will be closed December 18 - January 4 so that our staff can spend time with their families during the Christmas Season. We will be checking phone and email messages daily. We will return all non-urgent phone messages after January 4. Orders placed during this time will be shipped the week of January 5.

New WebNumbers Site!

The Kids 4 Truth team is thrilled to announce the release of the WebNumbers site! It is our prayer and desire that this site will be a blessing to you and your ministry/family.

The WebNumbers project is designed to highlight important parts of your TruthBooks, and it features the "Memorize It!" Q&A portions, TruthBook commentary sections, activities, and links to resources, dynamations, and bonus material related to the topic you are studying.

Each of the 120 Q&A for levels 2-4 has a WebNumber page that includes a home page and links to both Kids Pages and Adult Pages:

HOME PAGE – Includes the main Q&A (“Memorize It” Portion) and commentary portion from the TruthBook. Some pages include content that is not printed in the TruthBooks such as additional Fast Facts, Awesome Quote, What’s Wrong With This?, Seeing it Clearly, etc.
KID PAGES - The WebNumbers Kid Pages include activities, crafts, and puzzles that help children learn the current "Memorize It!" they are studying in their TruthBooks. The child will pick out something they want to do, click on it, and that activity, craft, or puzzle will pop up in another window. Children, workers or parents are encouraged to print and make copies of these pages. For your convenience, you will find an answer key on the second page of each activity, craft, or puzzle.
ADULT PAGES - The adult portion of each WebNumbers page will give you (the worker or parent) additional resources for teaching. You will find links to resource articles (Please note: we may not fully endorse all content or articles on other websites that we link to for helpful resource articles.) , links to our popular dynamations (dynamic animated multimedia presentations), and links to PPT presentations. For your convenience, at the lower right corner of each WebNumber page, you will find a link to the corresponding TTLP (Teacher TruthTime Lesson Plan) for each unit in the TruthBook.

The Activities, Crafts, and Puzzles on this site are currently posted in the NKJV version. We will be adding KJV, ESV, and NASB versions as time permits throughout this curriculum year. Be sure to check back often to see if we have the version you are using available.

Thanksgiving Greetings and Schedule

Happy Thanksgiving from the Kids 4 Truth Team! We trust you are planning to have a time celebrating God’s blessings in your life and ministry.

In order for our staff to spend time with their families our offices will observe the following schedule

Tracts on Sale through 10-31-09

Halloween: Is it a witnessing opportunity you are hiding from?
So...what do you do on Halloween? Do you turn out all the lights, hide in the basement or family room, and hope that no one comes to your door? Do you wrestle with the decision of whether or not to participate or allow your children to participate in the holiday? Perhaps you do this because:

You do not want to promote Halloween with your children and you do not want your children seeing others come to your door asking for candy and treats.
You do not want your children feeling like they missed out on some fun and excitement.

Consider with me the possibility of turning this into a witnessing opportunity. For years, we have taught our children that we use Halloween as a witnessing opportunity. Although we do not allow our children to dress up or go from door, we usually do something special with our children that night by cooking hot dogs & marshmallows in the fireplace and eating them picnic style in the living room, watching a fun dvd, or playing a family game while we wait for children to come to the door. Our children take turns answering the door and giving treats to the children who come to our door. We always include a Kids 4 Truth Bookmark, DynaBox, or a tract that gets the gospel into the homes of each and every child who comes to our door. Our children enjoy seeing the children dressed up and giving the children their special treats or prizes, and know that they have had the opportunity to share the gospel in an unique way. Although our children are now between the ages of 13 and 21, they still enjoy this special family witnessing opportunity!

Fun Ways to Give out the Gospel:

DynaBox Tracts: These unique tracts fold into a box. We suggest that you assemble the tract into a box but before closing the box include a prize or candy treat. This creates a fun way to give out a tract, gets the gospel into the children’s hands and home, and gives a prize/treat at the same time.
Kids 4 Truth Bookmark Tracts: Children and teens love these colorful, glossy bookmarks! The tracts are easy to distribute and we find they get
used...which means sooner or later they will turn the bookmark over and read the gospel or visit the website.

Tips:

If you are giving out tracts with your treats or prizes, don’t use old, stale candy. Be sure that you use treats or prizes that the children will enjoy. Remember, you are representing Christ when you give out tracts with treats/prizes.
Be careful that prizes don’t look too much like candy. One year I was giving away small prize erasers, and I had to grab fast to keep a young child from eating the frog eraser I just handed to him.
Candy can be taped to a tract or bookmark if needed to make it easier to distribute.
If you are going to be away and you know children will be coming to your door, consider leaving a basket of prizes by the front door. Believe it or not I have done this several times and children are good to only take one prize.

Don’t want to give away candy?

Consider a small prize instead.

US Toy (www.ustoy.com) or Kipp Toys (www.kipptoys.com) are great places to get cheap little toy trinkets.
Try bouncie balls, stretchy lizards/frogs, or sticky guys. They are cheap and kids absolutely love them.

Consider a cool pencil or eraser. Don’t choose just plain school quality...pick the cool eraser shapes or the metallic-look pencils.

Dear EquipU Users,

Most schools are already in session and many of you have placed your fall order. Others are working on registering their children and preparing to place their fall order. With this in mind this newsletter is to update you on our current sale, busy season shipping procedures, new products, new training resources, and a few additional notes that we trust will be helpful to you as you prepare for this fall.

Shipping Information – As we approach the fall, many churches will all be placing orders at the same time. The earlier you get your order in, the earlier we can get it to you. Live Virtual Training Seminars

Kids 4 Truth is pleased to announce that we now offer Live Web-based Seminars. These seminars are available free of charge to anyone who is interested in attending to gain more training and insight in the program. Whether you are currently using Kids 4 Truth, are scheduled to begin the program soon, or are just interested in finding out more about the program, we welcome you to attend any or all sessions that are available.

Live Web-Based training is easy to use: simply log into the site using the links we provide to participate. Participants can ask questions, download manuals and resources, and give feedback to the presenter. Multiple participants can attend and watch from individual computers or connect your computer to a projector and watch as a group. Presenters can upload documents for you to view, allow you to see how resources are used, survey your needs, answer questions and much more!

These seminars are available in several formats:

General Kids 4 Truth training – somewhat like the sessions we do at Regional Training events – 2-3 hours long
General Kids 4 Truth Training sessions are available on a bi-monthly basis (one on a Saturday and the other on a weeknight). We ask that you check the schedule at: http://equipu.kids4truth.com/forums/121.aspx for specific dates we offer live web-based training and when possible that you register for these events. If less than 5 people plan to attend, the presenter may customize the training to the participants’ interests.

Customized Kids 4 Truth training – training customized to your unique usage, goals, and scenarios – length determined when event is scheduled
Churches are encouraged and welcomed to schedule a Customized Live Web-Based event by contacting me (marrena@kids4truth.com or 866-754-4272). I will work with you to come up with a date & time and sessions that meet your unique needs. We will also post information about this event on this site at: for others who would like to join the training.

General Kids 4 Truth Sessions – topical session, discussion or Q&A session –30-60 minutes
General Kids 4 Truth Sessions include topics such as: Getting Started, Placing your Yearly Order, Record Keeping Simplified, Using K4T in your Sunday School, Using K4T in your Children’s church, Effective Small Group Time, Discoverers! Live Conference or Help Desk Sessions – Live conference session or help on a topic you desire
Schedule live help to assist you in learning about the program, placing orders, record keeping, areas/resources you struggle with, or understanding the curriculum. We will connect live with you and/or your group to help you. You will be able to actively ask questions, see resources, walk through Resources, TruthBooks, and Documents with our staff. These sessions can be scheduled in advance or at a moment’s notice (as schedules permit). Scheduled events are ideal for church leadership when setting up a program or finding out more about the program and if it will work for their church’s needs.

Live Web-Based Seminars and Training are a win win option for both our churches and our staff. We are able to provide you with live training without the expense of brining in a representative which saves your church traveling and lodging costs, saves from your people having to travel to another area for live training, and allows our staff to reach out and help more churches.
