We encourage churches to flex our recommended scenarios to fit the needs of their ministry. This includes flexing the awards to meet the needs of their unique ministry. We welcome ideas from churches on the use of their award patches.
Over the past year we have heard several uses for the bonus patch and would like to share these with everyone.
- Use of the patch as recommended on the K4T "How to Earn Awards" Cards. The patch is earned as the children memorize the bonus Q&A for each doctrinal theme.
- Perfect attendance & responsibility as outlined on another post by Ann Shore. The child earn the bonus patch by attending and bringing clubs supplies during the time the club is studying each Doctrinal Theme in the TruthLesson time.
- Service patch. The child earns patches for doing church or community service projects. These projects include but are not limited to: children's choir, visitation/outreach, visitors, assisting widows or shutins, playing special music, cleaning the church, etc.
It is important to remember that the standard for each level can only hold 12 bonus patches. Therefore, children in levels 2-4 can earn 6 bonus patches per year. Children in level 1 can earn 12 bonus patches while they are in this level (remember, this level lasts for 3 years.)
