Because most Discoverers are unable to read, I wanted to make a visual aid to prompt their memory as we reviewed the various truths. Review cards were made using the K4T coloring pages. My cards were for the 3 year olds (Discoverers A). I typed up the information for each truth on regular copy paper in a font style and size that I could easily read. The 3 year olds don't have much to memorize for each truth. Each individual truth symbol was printed onto regular copy paper and colored with crayons. Using a salad/dessert plate as a template, I cut out 12 circles of white poster board. A truth symbol was glued on one side of each circle. The 3's memory work for the matching truth was glued to the back. Afterwards, the circle cards were laminated. They still look great after 2 years of review. Early in the club year, the 3's could look at the circle card with the Bible symbol on it and say in unison, "The Bible is the only book that is God's Word to us."
This summer I made sets for the 4's and 5's (Discoverers B & C) so they can do the same review. Because they have more memory work, I used larger circles for their visual aids. A dinner plate and charger worked well for templates. Our church uses both the KJV and the ESV. So each class (A, B, and C) now has 2 sets of circles cards. One is in KJV on black circles, and one is in ESV on white circles.
Note: You could skip the typing step and enlarge your downloadable truth booklet pages. The enlarged pages could be glued to your circle cards. I have purchased the Discoverers A downloadable truth booklet in the KJV and ESV. I also purchased the Discoverers memory cards in both KJV and ESV.
Other options: Larger circles with enlarged symbols could be made for the age groups with more memory work. Another idea for older groups or large review groups would be to use a set of review circle cards using the same symbol but with all the memory work spread out over the different circle cards to review one truth.
